The Houston Civic Chorus will kickoff its inaugural season in 2019-2020. As the official chorus of the Houston Civic Symphony, the chorus will perform annually with the orchestra as well as in separate concerts.

Dr. Terre Johnson is conductor of the Houston Civic Chorus. Dr. Johnson is Chair of the Department of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Houston Baptist University.

Rehearsals will be held on the campus of Houston Baptist University beginning in September 2019.

How to Join

Membership in the Houston Civic Chorus is open to adult singers and to high school singers who have a drivers license.

The Houston Civic Chorus holds auditions for singers in August each year. Auditions may be held later in the year as needed. All members of Houston Civic Chorus are volunteers.

The chorus typically performs three concerts each season. Rehearsals are held on the campus of Houston Baptist University campus on Monday evenings from 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.
